Rockwool Insulation

DMS Installations in Glasgow, Scotland is proud to offer Rockwool insulation products. Cavity wall Rockwool insulation is part of a ground-breaking development in the insulation industry: insulative material spun from volcanic diabase rock, known as mineral wool. The resulting material is heat resistant, moisture resistant, breathable, delivers a high thermal insulation, provides sound protection, and is structurally sound.
Rockwool stone wool insulation shields buildings and their occupants, improving safety, comfort and building value. The World Health Organisation has left stone mineral wool off its list of potential carcinogens following long-term studies. After more than 60 years in use, Rockwool insulation has proven to be the safe and most durable choice.

Rockwool Flexi® is a multi-use, dual purpose (thermal and acoustic) insulation product with a unique flexible edge along one side. The patented flexible edge ensures a perfect fit is maintained between the product and its supporting framework for ease of installation and optimum effectiveness as an insulation material.

Rockwool can be used to provide solutions for application at the ceiling line – ideal for residential buildings where the loft space does not need to be habitable. Insulation can either be supplied by Rockwool insulation rolls or by blown fibres. Both solutions are a great improvement for the thermal efficiency of a building, making them ideal for loft insulation.

Rockwool Roll, Twin Roll and Rollbatt products provide effective, medium density thermal insulation with acoustic properties and fire resistance. The products are suitable for roof spaces in all types of buildings or to overlay ceiling tiles in suspended ceilings. Rockwool Roll consists of a single 1200mm width roll, TwinRoll consists of 2 x 100mm thick layers in a pack, pre-split to deliver two thickness application options, and Rollbatt is pre-cut insulation rolls, in either 400mm or 600mm widths.

Benefits of Rockwool Insulation

Due to the physical properties of Rockwool, it is able to withstand temperatures up to 1000oC. This increases the fire safety of any premise that it is installed in, providing extra protection in the event of a fire. Thanks to water repellent additives, Rockwool repels moisture, making it difficult for rot and mould to gain a foothold in the insulation. This reduces the chances of structural damage and potential health hazards in the home. It also ensures that Rockwool has a longer lifespan in the event of unexpected exposure to water. Rockwool is porous, allowing homes to breathe and function as they should. The setting of the rock traps pockets of air, meaning Rockwool delivers excellent thermal properties.

Noise resistant

Thanks to the dense nature of Rockwool insulation, it has excellent sound dampening properties. This works both ways, making your home a more comfortable living environment, and reducing the amount of noise that escapes into your surroundings.

Structurally sound

Thanks to the water resistance and its naturally dense character, Rockwool has been shown to be structurally sound over a long lifespan, removing any worry of structural damage in your home due to compromised insulation from your mind.
