Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan Heat Pumps

Heating a home can be an expensive business. Finding ways to reduce a home’s heating system bill can result in serious annual savings, making it a top priority for many households in the UK and abroad. Many of us also want to have as minimal an impact on the environment as possible, and so look to install eco-friendly heating solutions; the less fuel we burn producing electricity and the less gas we use in heating our home’s water supply, the healthier and more sustainable the global environment will be.

The Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan air source Heat Pumps are a perfect solution to both of these predicaments. Utilising Mitsubishi’s excellent record in the electronic and electrical fields, the Mitsubishi Ecodan Heat Pumps have been designed with both the environment and the end user – the home owner – in mind. As a result, they are a perfect blend of environmental responsibility and high rate energy production technology.

Mitsubishi Electric is a market leader in commercial and domestic renewable solutions, and pioneers the development of renewable heat pump technology that offers improved energy efficiency while meeting and exceeding the European Union’s stringent legislation and product requirements.

The Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan Heat Pump Range

Heat pump technology is nothing new; it has been used around the world for decades and Mitsubishi Electric have improved and developed this technology to produce the Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan – one of the most advanced, energy efficient heating systems available on the marketplace today. The Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan Heat Pump range is suitable to any scale or applications, be it large or small, domestic or commercial.

The Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan Heat Pump uses proven heat pump technology to deliver effective, low carbon heating and hot water supply. Having won awards for their efficiency, Ecodan systems provide a simple and renewable solution that rivals traditional home heating systems.

Benefits of the Mitsubishi Ecodan Heat Pump Range

  • Helps achieve renewable energy targets

  • Capable of reducing running costs and CO2 emissions

  • Easy to design, install and maintain

  • Fully scalable and can work independently or in conjunction with other systems

  • Optimised systems from 5kW to 960kW

  • MCS approved

Whether it’s for a small flat or a large detached house, or for an office block or a school, the Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan Heat Pump offers an alternative and eco-friendly alternative choice to traditional heating systems. Ecodan is a reliable, sustainable heating technology capable of providing energy efficient space heating and hot water supply all year round.

As with any heating system, the Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan Heat Pump works best in properties with high levels of thermal efficiency. Wherever possible, property owners, be they private or commercial, should look into cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, double glazing, and other thermal efficiency improvements.

How the Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan Heat Pump Works

Ecodan heating systems use heat pump technology to provide heating and hot water supply wherever required. The heat pumps only require a small amount of energy input to gather, upgrade, and move heat from one location for distribution in another.

This is achieved through a vapour compression cycle, which has the ability to move heat from one space to another. The efficiency of a heat pump is known as the coefficient of performance or COP; this is the ratio of the heat deliver to power consumed to deliver said heat.

This technology is similar to how a modern refrigerator works, which also uses the vapour compression cycle. The main components of an air source heat pump are the compression, the expansion valve, and two heat exchangers – an evaporator and a condenser.

The Stages of the Vapour Compression Cycle

  • Compression – Refrigerant vapour is raised in pressure and therefore temperature.

  • Condensing – This hot pressurised refrigerant vapour is then passed through a condenser, where it liquefies and gives off useable heat that can be delivered to a building by either air or water.

  • Expansion – Liquid refrigerant is then allowed to expand, which lowers its pressure.

  • Evaporation – The low pressure liquid then expands and absorbs naturally occurring heat from the environment (this can be from the air, water or ground) and in doing so changes back to a vapour, which is then passed to the compressor for the cycle to start again.

“Outstanding service”

Contacted DMS Installations when my boiler packed in. Can not fault the service from start to finish and I'm amazed how quickly my problem was resolved. They sent an engineer out to my house straight away to give me quotes for a new boiler then within three days I now have a new combi boiler fitted!! Which means hot water and working radiators woo hoo!! Would recommend this company to anyone.

“Professional and knowledgeable”

Highly knowledgeable and helpful, guided me through the options at length. I was guided to a Renewable solution that pays for itself through RHI / FIT and my bills are down £165 a month. Thanks!

“Great service ”

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I now have the kitchen I wanted. Thank you DMS. The workmen were great guys. I already recommended them to my mate

“Fantastic Team”
