Regular servicing of your boiler is essential to maintaining its efficiency, ensuring safety and maintaining your manufacturer’s warranty. All our services include a full safety check on the boiler and any gas fires or cookers, as well as a Landlords Gas Safety Certificate if required. Our boilers come with up to 10 years manufacturer’s warranty. Yearly servicing is required to maintain this peace of mind.
We can arrange payment of your yearly service by monthly Direct Debit, to help spread the costs. £8.34 per month covers your yearly Gas or LPG boiler service, or £11.99 and offers a discount on call-outs for breakdowns. Sign up here for monthly Direct Debit and you will receive a full service every 12 months.
Regular boiler servicing is vital to ensure that your boiler is running safely and efficiently. Poorly maintained or faulty boilers present a serious health risk to you and your family as they can cause fatal carbon monoxide poisoning.
You should arrange to have a Gas boiler service at least once each year. Annual servicing will ensure your boiler is operating properly at all times. This allows expert engineers a chance to identify small and potential problems before they turn into larger issues. In turn this will help avoid the need for emergency breakdown services and ultimately save you money.
Most people choose to have their gas boiler serviced in winter as this is when it is used the most. However you may want to take this into account when booking your appointment. It may be worthwhile booking your service in advance of the busy period or in a different season, such as summer. This means you can avoid long waiting times due to busy engineers. Arranging a service for the summer will benefit you as it gives you more time to have any problems resolved before the cold weather sets in.
Our engineer will inspect your boiler and controls to make sure they are operating safely.
The inspection will include checking your boiler for corrosion and leaks.
Your boiler casing will be removed to check the functioning of its main components.
A gas pressure check will ensure your boiler is operating at the correct gas pressure.
A flue test will ensure that no unsafe emissions are being released from your boiler.
Your boiler’s parts will be cleaned as required.
Your boiler’s casing will be put back on and properly sealed.
Our engineer will leave a checklist with you including all of the relevant information you need about the safety of your boiler.
At DMS Installations we offer a fully comprehensive oil boiler service for just £250.
There are many reasons why the efficiency of an oil fired boiler could be reduced. Here are a few:
Heat ExchangTo maintain your boiler efficiency the heat exchanger must be kept clean. Excessive smoke and partially burnt fuel deposits can cause soot to form within the boiler heat exchanger. This will restrict the amount of heat that can be transferred into the heating system water. Therefore the cleaner the heat exchanger, the more efficient the boiler will be.r
The oil nozzles can also contribute to reduced boiler efficiency. Oil nozzles regulate how much oil passes through the burner. The nozzles are consumable items that over time become worn down. This affects combustion and lowers boiler efficiency. If the oil nozzles are not replace, they could cause “sooting up” of the heat exchanger due to too much fuel passing through the burner.
Photocells are an important safety feature which detect whether the boiler has been lit. Over time photocells can become glazed over with deposits of dirt from the boiler. If a photocell is dirty it may not be able to detect the burner flame correctly and could cause the boiler to shut down randomly. Boilers frequently switching on and off will be less efficient than those running for longer periods.
Electrodes produce the spark to light the fuel, if they are worn or in poor condition the boiler may not light. Electrodes can become worn down over time. They also attract soot and deposits of dirt. If the electrodes do become worn or dirty this will cause inconvenience, inefficiency and increasing fuel cost.
If our expert engineers determine that your oil boiler requires any additional labour or parts that are not covered in our full service we will inform you of this before we start any work. At DMS Installations we always ensure that our customers have agreed to the extra costs before commencing the project.
The best way to ensure your oil fired boiler remains operating efficiently is to have it serviced regularly. By doing so you can reduce your fuel bills and save money on costly call-out fees for unexpected breakdowns. OFTEC recommends that oil fired appliances and equipment are serviced at least once a year or as recommended by the manufacturer.
Biomass boilers are specialist pieces of equipment which need to be serviced by expert engineers to ensure prolonged economic life and efficiency. At DMS Installations we can service and maintain any wood pellet, chip or log boilers. Our highly skilled, specialist engineers service both domestic and commercial biomass boilers.
We recommend annual servicing for Biomass Boilers and equipment so we offer a Biomass Servicing package to all of our customers. It is also part of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) conditions to have your boiler serviced regularly. Therefore to ensure you continue to receive RHI payments, the equipment must be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s specification.
DMS Installations offers one of the most comprehensive Biomass Servicing available. While the key element of the Biomass Servicing package is the Biomass Boiler, other parts of the system also require maintenance. As we offer maintenance of the entire system as part of our package you can save time and money by booking with DMS installations.

Contacted DMS Installations when my boiler packed in. Can not fault the service from start to finish and I'm amazed how quickly my problem was resolved. They sent an engineer out to my house straight away to give me quotes for a new boiler then within three days I now have a new combi boiler fitted!! Which means hot water and working radiators woo hoo!! Would recommend this company to anyone.
Highly knowledgeable and helpful, guided me through the options at length. I was guided to a Renewable solution that pays for itself through RHI / FIT and my bills are down £165 a month. Thanks!
The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I now have the kitchen I wanted. Thank you DMS. The workmen were great guys. I already recommended them to my mate
